RSA separates learner-driver theory tests by category. Cars are not the same test category as motorcycles, trucks or buses, so TPI keeps those learning areas separate too.

What the theory test checks
Official RSA guidance says the theory test checks knowledge including Rules of the Road, risk perception, eco-driving, hazard awareness and safe-driving behaviour. A good study plan should therefore combine understanding of rules with recognition of road situations—not only memorising answer letters.

Road-rule questions become easier when you connect a rule to what you see on the road. Review sign families, junction behaviour, speed and positioning, vulnerable road users, hazards and safe-driving decisions as linked topics.
After you pass
Passing the appropriate driver theory test is part of the path to a first learner permit. The learner-permit, training and practical-test stages have their own eligibility requirements, so keep those steps separate.
